Ch. 4

In this chapter Holden goes into the bathroom and talks to Stradlater while he's shaving. They talk about how Ackley is cleary a slob where Stradlater is more of a secret slob. Stradlater asks Holden if her could write a paper for him for some english class becaus ehe won't have time becaus eof his date. Stradlater says that he's going with Jane. Holden knows her but doesn't tell Stradlater that he has seen her around and doesn't think that Stradlater deserves her because of his sexual experience. Stradlater leaves, Ackley comes back in and pops his pimples until dinner.

Ch. 3

So in this chapter Holden is is his room reading when a guy living in a room next door named Ackley comes barging in. Holden keeps asking him to leave but Ackley doesn't get the hint and keeps pestering Holden by wondering around his room and cutting his fingernails on the floor. Stradlater, someone who Ackley isn't too fond off and also Holden's roomate. After Stradlater shows up to their room Ackley leaves. Stradler informs Holden that he's got a date and that he's going to shave.

Ch. 2

Chapter two just kinda starts of right where chapter one ends. He comes in and is warmly welcomed by Mr. Spencer's wife. Holden seems really polite to these old birds as though he is really close to them. The teachers wife tells him that he is upstairs in his room. Holden goes up there and seems like he is in just like disbelief about Mr. Spencer's condition. His room is filled with pills and othe things to make it look like Mr. Spencer might die. After greeting one another they sit down n joke a little but Mr. Spencer gets into a serious talk and tell Holden that life is a game and that he has to live by the rules. Mr. Spencer then reads him his essay that holden wrote about ancient egyptions that he terribly wrote. Towards the end he convinces him to think about his future then Holdne leaves for dinner.

Ch. 1

Holden pretty much starts out on him telling about himself leaving from Pency Prep. The reason why he's leaving is becaus ehe got asked to leave because he failed four of five classes with only passing English. So they day before Christmas break holden is on looking the rivalary football game against Saxon Hall on Thomsen Hill. Holden wouldn't be watching the game right now and would be in New york, but he lost the Fencing teams equipment which made them come home earlier.(He's the team manager) Holden feel that for his departure he needs to say good bye. He bring up a memory of him palying catch with another buddy on campus after dark then getting yelled at by a teacher. After that thought he sprints of to Mr. Spencer's home who is originally a teacher at Prency Prep but is reall sick.
