In Chapter 6, Henry and all the guys in his regiment are congratulating one another about their little battle. When all of a sudden they find out that their enemy is coming back to fight. Henry all of a suddenly doesn't feel good anymore and isn't as confident as he was before about his courage. He and the other guys start retreating as fast as they can. Henry darts past pretty much everybody including the general who was telling people what to do. Finally he stops and hears that the enemy has been held back.
