1. What does the title of this book mean? Be specific in your response, noting Henry's comments.
-The red badge of courage comes into play in chapter nine, when Henry is looking around and see's all these dead bodies, then he wishes he had the red badge of courage to help them out.
2. What is the importance of the tattered man? What does he represent?
-I think the tattered man is there to help Henry build up more and more courage to fight and save others lives. He just kinda picks on Henry like asking him where he has been wounded at etc. Overall i think the tattered man is there in encourage Henry and make him man up and strive for what he wants to come back home to, which is his mother.
3. What role does Henry's mother play while he is away from her?
-She is who Henry is fighting for. So he will be able to go back home and see his mother.(wounded or not)
4. How does Henry use the squirrel to justify his actions?
He throws a pine cone at it to see if nature is still going on with natures business, while in this field beside the forest, there are numbers of men shooting and killing each other.(which Henry calls the field of blood)

You have pieces of right ideas, and pieces of Dominic's made up story in his mind. :)
You can do better.
